Teethview, 2 Bridgend, Callander

Teethview is a symmetrical, 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan house located at 2 Bridgend in Callander. This 18th century house has seen little alteration to its principal (east) elevation and contributes to the streetscape at the northern end of Bridgend. It was likely originally constructed as a cottage in the 18th century and later raised to include a first floor. The house is situated below the current road level leading to the bridge and forms a good grouping with the nearby listed Teithview House and Callander Bridge.

The house features relatively small windows and closely spaced bays on the principal (east) elevation, which reflect its early date. The rear elevation has been largely altered. Cast iron railings on the principal elevation are attached to a retaining wall that is part of the original fabric of the flanking wall of the bridge built in 1764, which was rebuilt in 1908.

The materials used in the construction include rendered walls with margined windows, a modern timber and glazed door, and uPVC glazing throughout. The roof is pitched with grey slate and has a pair of tri-partite rooflights on the principal elevation. Ashlar stacks with various cans are also present. Admission to the interior was not obtained at the time of resurvey in 2004.
