Description

The Statue of the Florentine Boar at Balmoral Castle was created around 1855 and painted in 1929. This life-size bronze statue depicts a wild boar seated on its haunches, inspired by a similar statue located in Florence, possibly at the Palazzo Signoria. The statue is positioned near a copse to the south of the castle.
