Description
The Bridge of Auchernach, dated 1832, is a road bridge spanning the Water of Nochty on the old road from Lost to Auchernach. It features two segmental arches, with the northern floodwater arch being slightly smaller. The bridge is constructed with voussoirs and cutwaters, and has curved approaches leading to pyramidally-coped square-section terminal piers. The structure is made of coursed, roughly squared rubble and is topped with low flat-coped parapets. An inscription on the bridge reads, "ERECTED / BY / GEN N FORBES / 1832."
