Description
The burial ground dates to 1807 and was renovated in 1951 following damage by fire. The church itself is a simple rectangular building constructed of coursed rubble with tooled dressings. The south elevation features four round-headed windows, each with iron shutter hinges. A projecting gabled porch is located at the centre of the east gable, which also incorporates a former gallery window above and a small, re-set stone mask in the gablet. A bellcote sits at the apex of the west gable and the roof is slate, using re-used roofing materials from a former Free Church in Craggan.
The interior was re-cast in 1951 and incorporates re-used pews and fittings from the same former Free Church. A new pulpit and Minister's chair were added that year.
The burial ground is enclosed by a rubble wall and contains 19th and 20th century tombstones, some made from excellent quality local slate. A pair of simple gatepiers mark the entrance. The building remains in ecclesiastical use and is located within the Cairngorms National Park.
