Description
Late 19th to early 20th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay villa in typical Highland estate style with gabled dormerheads. Squared rubble granite with some Aberdeen bond, random rubble and contrasting sandstone dressings. Segmental-headed dormers; raked cills; stop-chamfered arrises and stone mullions.
E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Full-width slated verandah-type porch incorporating outer bays with decorative bargeboarding and brattishing,
broad opening to centre with 2-leaf panelled timber door and plate glass fanlight, single gabled dormer breaking eaves above; rectangular-plan wide-centre tripartites with glazed returns to outer bays below bipartite dormers as above.
N AND W ELEVATION: gabled elevations with window to centre at each floor.
Plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows, double glazing to dormer windows. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with polygonal cans. Overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding and decorative bargeboarding with pendant finials to dormers. Cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.
BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATEPIERS: low saddleback-coped boundary walls with pyramidally-coped square-section ashlar gatepiers.
