Description

1826 on earlier site. Simple rectangular church orientated

E/W, re-cast probably 1893, James Gilbert; further

alterations MacGregor Chalmers 1912. Harled rubble with tooled

grey granite margins and dressings.

4 large square headed windows in N and S elevations with

moulded timber transom and mullion to each window and leaded

glazing. Entrance in centre W gable with gallery window

above; similar openings in E gable now blocked. Bellcote

with cusped and shaped head and urn finial at W gable apex;

slate roof.

Mural memorial dated 1806 set in N wall of church.

Interior: gutted; panelled gallery front at W end.

Burial ground; rectangular rubble walled burial ground,

wall either rendered or harled with shaped cope. Pair grey

tooled granite ashlar gate piers with shallow pyramidal caps;

pair simple spearhead carriage gates. Interesting 18th and

19th century tombstones.
