Description
Seafield Mausolea is a pair of heavy buttressed Greek cross mausolea located in the Duthil Old Parish Churchyard. The first mausoleum was designed by W H Playfair in 1837, while the second, a mirror copy, was built by Mr R Dow from Dulnain Bridge in 1884. Both structures are made of grey granite ashlar and feature a round-headed recessed entrance on each face, which is closed by studded metal doors. A moulded cornice encircles the base of the stepped and crenellated wallhead. The wallhead of the mausoleum within the burial ground includes the Grant coat of arms, while the coat of arms is missing from the mausoleum built in 1884.
