Description
Zetland House is an early Victorian, two-storey detached villa located at 1 Chalton Road in Bridge of Allan. The building features a slight asymmetry in its design, constructed from coursed rubble with raised quoins and raised margins that have a chamfer. It has end canted bays, with the left bay being higher than the right, and these bays are raised in a piend style. The central doorpiece is shouldered and moulded, complete with a key-block and a consoled cornice that supports a low decorative iron balcony above. The first window in the center is shouldered and key-blocked, while the gable facing Mine Road has two windows. The villa has a slated roof and retains its original glazing, showcasing a simple yet distinctive architectural treatment.
