Description

  1. William Leiper.

Church in 12th century Gothic style. Snecked rubble with

ashlar dressings. Buttressed north front with central door

under pointed roll-moulded arch with hoodmould, continued

at springing level across facade. Above, pair of

hoodmoulded lancets in splayed reveals. Small oculus in

blind stone rosette in gable end. Low single pitched roof

to north east bay; remaining 5 bays under main roof with

single lancets divided by buttresses. Similar details in

5 west bays. Square north west tower chamfered to octagon,

with 8 tall gabled lancets. Facetted spire with lucarnes

on alternate faces. Iron weather-vane at apex.
