Description
2 West Port in Lanark is an early 19th-century, two-storey house with four windows on each floor, constructed of painted ashlar. The ground floor features pilasters, a central door, and four windows. Above, the first floor also has four windows and is topped with a cornice. There are two later 19th-century canted dormers and one modern dormer.
On the elevation facing North Vennel, the ground floor is finished in painted stucco, while the upper section is made of droved ashlar. This side includes a blocked door, two windows on the ground floor, four windows above, and one blind window. The main cornice extends to the gable end, forming a pediment that encloses two blind windows, with a large stack at the apex. The roof is covered with slate.
