Description

The Bank of Scotland on Bloomgate in Lanark is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay asymmetrical building. It is constructed from ashlar stone with rusticated quoins. The central entrance features a pilastered doorpiece, and to the right, there is a two-storey canted bay topped with a balustrade. On the ground floor to the left, there are two single lights, with a band course above them, and on the first floor, there are two architraved windows. The building has a main cornice and a blocking course. A recessed bay on the right side is now obscured at ground level by a modern addition. The building has end stacks and a piended slate roof.
