Newhousemill, East Kilbride

Newhousemill is an 18th century dwelling house with outbuildings that form a U-plan. It was refurbished in 2001. The building is two stories high and has three bays, constructed from squared and snecked rubble with raised, painted margins on the main elevation.

On the south (principal) elevation, there is a central door with single windows on either side. The first floor features regular fenestration with windows above. To the west, there is a single-storey L-plan range that has four windows on the south front and two windows on the left side of the west front, with a blind left return and two large openings on the north front.

The west elevation has the attached west range. The north elevation, which was not visible in 2001, features a circular window in the center of the first floor with single windows flanking it. The east elevation was also not visible in 2001.

The building has crowstepped gables and stacks at the gable heads, topped with a slate roof. The outbuildings are part of an L-plan range that was under reconstruction in 2001.
