Description
The building is a former stable associated with Torrance House in East Kilbride, designed by William Adam in 1740 and later converted in the 20th century. It is a two-storey structure with five bays, constructed from rubble with smooth margins.
On the northeast elevation, there is a central round-arched door featuring a keystone, flanked by single windows. Above, there are five square single windows, and an attic window is positioned to the right of the roof.
The southeast elevation is blind, lacking any openings.
The southwest elevation includes bipartite windows in the left bay, a single window in the second bay from the left, and a door with a window in the third bay from the left. The right bay has bipartite windows. Above, there are four attic windows, with bipartite windows in the end bays and single windows in the center bays.
On the northwest elevation, there is a door at ground level and a single window in the left bay at the first floor.
The building features modern glazing and has a piended slate roof with very tall, coped stacks at the southeast and northwest ends.
