Description
9-11 West Port in Lanark is an early 19th-century, three-storey, four-bay house constructed of painted broached ashlar. The building features a central round-arched door with a fanlight, flanked by two entrances that also have rectangular fanlights. A prominent doorpiece connects the three doors and is supported by four engaged Tuscan columns, topped with an entablature and blocking course. The outer bays have enlarged windows, and there is a cill course for the first-floor windows. All windows on the first and second floors are architraved and retain their original glazing. The house has a moulded cornice, straight skews, and substantial end stacks, one of which is rendered. The roof is covered with slate.
