Description
Bods with retaining wall and steps in Ollaberry date back to the early 19th century. This symmetrical pair of two-storey, three-bay former trading booths is situated on a sloping waterfront site and features harled rubble walls.
The southeast (principal) elevation has a six-bay design, grouped in threes, with near-matching three-bay sections. The central bay contains a wide door at ground level, flanked by regularly spaced windows in the other bays.
On the southwest gable, there are two bays with windows located in the right bay at both ground and first floor levels, while the left bay is blank. The northwest (rear) elevation includes a modern single-storey lean-to addition at the first floor level. The northeast gable has a modern single-storey addition that obscures the ground level, leaving the gable above blank.
The building features four-pane timber sash and case windows, and it is topped with a modern grey slate roof that has harled skew copes and apex stacks, the latter of which have stone copes and circular cans.
In front of the bods, there is a battered random rubble retaining wall leading to the sea, with rough stone steps providing access to the beach opposite the principal elevation.
