Description

Later 18th century. 2 rectangular-plan ashlar gatepiers with 2-leaf wrought- and cast-iron vehicular gate, flanked to each side by pedestrian (similarly detailed) gates. Gatepiers: base course; coping. S and N elevations of gatepiers similar with advanced central panel with round-arched niche. Classical detailing (of swag and shell motifs) to plinth above coping to S elevations of each gatepier; plinth flanked to each by consoles; ashlar smiling couchant lion surmounting both.
