Description
Bowmont House, located at 22 Bowmont Street in Kelso, dates from around 1800. This three-storey building features three bays and a central door framed by a corniced architrave. The façade is accentuated by giant angle pilasters that are channelled at the ground floor, and a dentil eaves course that projects forward over the angle pilasters. The exterior is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, with the eaves course and rendering continuing around the corner to Union Street. The north elevation is harled and topped with a piended slated roof, which includes brick end stacks.
