Sunnyside With Gatepiers And Gates, Langtongate, Duns

Sunnyside is a mid 18th century house that was enlarged in the 19th century, with its front dating from 1830. It is a two-storey, three-bay, L-plan building made of cream rubble sandstone with ashlar dressings.

The south elevation features three bays with a regular arrangement of windows. There is a deep-set panelled door, which has upper panels with later glazing, accompanied by a three-pane rectangular fanlight and a hoodmould.

On the west elevation, there is an advanced gable to the right that includes a window on the first floor. The two bays to the left consist of an inner bay with a panelled door at ground level and a window above it, while the outer bay has windows on both floors.

The north elevation has an advanced blank gable to the left and a bay to the right with a window on the first floor.

The east elevation features a gable to the left and a single bay to the right, both with windows on each floor.

The property has replacement uPVC sash windows, ashlar coped skews, ashlar apex stacks, thackstanes, and is covered with grey slates.

The boundary wall, gatepiers, and gates consist of a rubble wall along the road with boulder coping. There are a pair of square ashlar gatepiers topped with flattened pyramidal caps, and decorative cast-iron gates, along with a pedestrian gate to the left.
