Description
Broughton Stores is a late 18th century single-storey shop with later alterations, featuring a three-bay façade that is slightly off-centre to the right. The building has an L-shaped plan and includes a 20th century blockwork extension at the rear. The exterior is constructed from finely pointed whinstone rubble, complemented by painted sandstone quoins and squared hoodmoulds. The original stone mullions have been removed.
The shop has fixed pane glazing and a bi-fold timber boarded door with a pen-light above. The roofs are covered with small graded grey slates, while the later extension has a corrugated roof. The building features corniced ashlar stacks with plain cans and a simple conical ventilator at the rear.
Inside, the space has been modernised to create one open plan shop area.
