Templehall Hotel, Morebattle

The Templehall Hotel in Morebattle is an 18th-century rural inn that has undergone early 19th-century alterations and has had mid- and late 20th-century additions at the rear. It is a two-storey, six-bay building with an L-plan and gabled roof. The exterior is harled and washed, featuring painted dressings and a base course on the front elevation. The fenestration is fairly regular, with the dressings on the right half flush with the harling and the cills raised on the left part. There is a flat-roofed extension at the rear.

The windows predominantly feature 12-pane glazing in sash and case timber frames. The building has coped gablehead stacks with yellow clay cans, ashlar-coped and painted skews, and is roofed with Welsh slates. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also present.

Inside, there is a plain timber staircase, and the 19th-century floor plan has been predominantly retained.
