Description
The Three Horseshoes is an inn dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is rendered and features a thatched or Welsh slate roof with brick stacks at the south gables. It has a gable end facing the road and is two storeys high with three windows. The central entrance consists of a planked door set within a gabled porch, flanked by 6-pane fixed windows on either side. To the left, a 19th-century addition includes a 6-panelled door in a gabled porch, with a 16-pane sash window to the left that has external shutters. The first floor features a 16-pane sash window and two 2-light casements. The 19th-century range is adorned with attractive ogee cusped barge boards that extend along the eaves. There is a single-storey 19th-century extension to the left, constructed from flint with brick dressings, which has modern three-light casements, a rounded corner facing the road, and a hipped roof. The rear of the building includes a planked door, a 9-pane sash window, and a modern casement in the 19th-century section, along with a lean-to extension that has casements and a slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
