Description

The equestrian statue of a Border Riever in Galashiels was created by Thomas J Clapperton and is dated 1925. This bronze statue depicts a 17th century border reiver soldier on horseback. It is set on a three-tiered coursed ashlar plinth and is centrally located at the steps of the Burgh Chamber and War Memorial.
