Weensland Mills, Weensland Road, Hawick

Weensland Mills is a large former spinning mill built in the mid-19th century. It features a two-storey structure with a loft space, arranged in an 8-bay rectangular plan that is splayed to the east. The mill has a double-pitched roof and is located at the southern entrance of the former Weensland Mill site.

The principal southern elevation showcases a central tripartite corniced doorpiece that leads to a basement area, along with a canted window in the left bay of the eastern gable end. There are large hoist doorways in the right bay that provide access to the ground, first, and loft floors. The building is constructed of rubble stonework, with sandstone and cement rendered quoins.

The windows are predominantly 4-pane timber sash and case, complemented by timber panelled doors. The roofs are pitched and covered with slate, and there are rectangular corniced stacks at the gable ends.

Inside, the original ground floor level has been raised to sit above the first-floor windows, and there is a full basement.
