Description
Ashby is a picturesque villa built in 1867 by Peddie and Kinnear. It is asymmetrical and consists of two storeys with a three-bay north front. The entrance is located in the centre gabled bay to the left, while there is a recessed bay to the right featuring a gabled dormer head on the first floor. The ground floor windows have segmentally arched heads, and the first floor windows have cusped Gothic heads. The villa is adorned with elaborate flatwork, including bargeboarding and an ornamental ridge, and displays a coursed squared design with the Kinnear monogram and date.
