Description
Garden House, part of the Ednam House Hotel on Bridge Street in Kelso, dates from the later 18th century and was altered to become a house in 1948. The building has a rectangular shape and features a Gothic style with a five-bay front facing south. The bays are framed by tall clustered Gothic shafts that rest on a plinth and are paired at the ends. It has a Gothic frieze and cornice, a piended slated roof, and coped stacks on the flanks. In 1948, a floor was inserted to create two storeys, and new sash and case windows were added, along with quatrefoil panels placed between the ground and first floors.
