Description
George Reavell Jr of Alnwick, architect, 1907. Perpendicular Gothic church with transepts and tower. Snecked rubble with ashlar dressings. South front set forward of nave, buttresses to right, has splayed doorway with richly carved and moulded segmental head. Flanking sidelights. 6-light traceried window with depressed arch. Gable over. Buttressed tower set forward at left, of 3 stages. 1st low with coping course over, 2nd tall, both with stair windows. 3rd stage of ashlar with pairs of louvred windows with depressed arches and tracery panelling over. Pierced battlemented parapet. Blind nave. Transepts with 6-light windows. North end blind. Slate roofs. Interior has gallery to rear. Organ to front. Stained glass of south window by Percy Bacon and Bros, London. Rest by Ballantine, Edinburgh.
