St Vincent's College, Middlepenny Road, Langbank

St Vincent's College is a large, asymmetrical marine villa located on Middlepenny Road in Langbank. The building is not a single construction and features a significant 20th century extension. It is constructed of dressed ashlar, has timber-bracketed eaves, slate roofs, and sash windows.

The building's history suggests a sequence of construction:

1. The original structure, built in the mid-19th century, is a symmetrical two-storey, three-bay villa facing north. The central bay is taller, designed to resemble a campanile, and there are full-height, two-storey canted bay windows in the outer bays, with the entrance likely located on the side.

2. About 20 to 30 years later, a bulkier and taller addition was made to the west side. This section features a tall three-storey gable on the north front, which includes a two-storey bay window and distinctively detailed timberwork at the gable head. This detailing is also found on the gable of the L-plan west front, which has a columned open square porch in the re-entrant angle, possibly added around 1900.

3. To the south of the west extension, there are two additional bays, one of which has a tower with a pyramidal roof, likely built around the same time as the porch. The main roof is adorned with decorative iron cresting. The 20th century extension to the east is considered to be of lesser interest.
