East Lodge, Glencoats Hospital, Paisley

East Lodge at Glencoats Hospital in Paisley was designed by architect H J Blanc in 1891. This baronial-style lodge features two stories and a dormerless attic, arranged in an L-shape with a single-storey addition. The exterior is constructed of snecked stugged ashlar with polished dressing. A two-storey flat-roofed porch occupies the re-entrant angle, featuring a corniced doorpiece. To the east, there is a single-storey, parapetted canted window. The ground floor has a cornice, and the doors and windows exhibit roll-moulded reveals, with some of the windows being mullioned and transomed. The eaves cornice and crow-stepped gables are present on three sides, with wallhead stacks on two sides. The single-storey addition has a piended slate roof. The interior has been gutted. The entrance is marked by two outer ashlar gatepiers connected by a concave screen of railings to an inner pair of iron gatepiers.
