Description

Woodside Crematorium, built in 1938 by James Steel Maitland, is a notable structure located at 46 Broomlands Street in Paisley. The crematorium features a white-harled exterior with ashlar dressings and consists of various ranges of differing heights, topped with complex slated roofs. The main chapel is rectangular and serves as the central part of the building, characterized by a shallow-piended roof and tall square-headed multi-paned windows.

On the east side, there is a very wide porch made of ashlar, adorned with large urn finials. The crematorium also includes a pair of tall chimneys, with a particularly lofty chimney stalk located at the rear over the plant house. To the left, there are lower ranges that include a glass-domed columbarium.
