Description
Gowrie House, located at 46-52 North Methven Street in Perth, was built around 1865-70, likely by architect Andrew Heiton, and features a French Gothic style. This three-storey and attic office block has a nearly symmetrical façade. The centre has three recessed windows with a shallow oriel on the first floor. At the ground floor, there are segmental arch openings flanked by doors, while the ends have two windows each. The first floor features hood-moulded openings with bracketed balconies that have iron balustrades, and the second floor has shouldered openings. The end sections include bipartite windows. The building is topped with wallhead chimneys and a slated roof, which includes gabled dormers.
