Deuchars Buildings, 8, 10, 12 South Street, Perth

Deuchars Buildings, located at 8, 10, and 12 South Street in Perth, date from the mid 18th century and have undergone later alterations. This three-storey and attic, six-bay corner tenement features a ground floor with a consoled and pilastered fascia, and it includes a particularly rare 18th century bow fronted shop window on the far right. The building is constructed of rendered ashlar with raised margins, and it has a base course and a stringcourse on the east elevation (Speygate). There is a tall wallhead gable stack on the east side and a partially crowstepped gable on the south elevation, along with piended dormers.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate, and it features coped skews. Some of the stacks have been rebuilt in brick, and there are clay cans and cast-iron rainwater goods.
