Description
13 Commissioner Street in Crieff is a pair of houses built in the late 19th to early 20th century. The two-storey, four-bay structure is part of an irregular terrace that runs to the northwest. It features stugged squared and snecked rubble with red sandstone ashlar dressings and has an eaves cornice. The windows have stone mullions and stop-chamfered arrises.
On the southwest elevation, the central bays are closely aligned, each with a panelled timber door and a plate glass fanlight at ground level, and a single window above. The bay to the right at ground level has a timber shop door flanked by small lights with moulded windowheads. Above this is a narrow fascia board leading to a canted tripartite oriel window that breaks the eaves, topped with a finialled, ogeed metal roof. The bay to the left of the centre has a single window at ground level and an oriel window above, similar to the one on the right.
The southeast elevation features a broad blank gabled bay with a slightly set-back lower harled workshop to the right. This workshop has a bipartite window to the left, another opening in the centre, and two modern rooflights.
The windows have a 4- and 6-pane glazing pattern over plate glass lower sashes, with plate glass in the lights flanking the shop door, all set in timber sash and case frames. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts.
