Hill Of Errol

Hill of Errol is a late 18th-century farmhouse with a single-storey extension added to the rear in 1845. The building is two storeys high, has three bays, and features a rectangular plan with a piend roof. The exterior is harled with painted margins.

The principal elevation faces southeast and is symmetrical. The central bay at ground level has three steps and flanking dwarf walls leading to a deep-set six-panelled timber door topped by a grid pattern fanlight. There are windows in the flanking bays, and the first floor has regular fenestration close to the eaves.

On the southwest elevation, there are windows on the ground right and on each floor to the left, along with an additional window in the single-storey bay on the outer left. The northeast elevation has a window to the left at ground level. The northwest (rear) elevation features a double piended extension projecting at ground level, with windows flanking a door that has a small later porch, and a narrow top-opening light below a carved datestone. The recessed face of the original house is also double piended and has a tiny window to the left of centre.

The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are tall coped harled wallhead stacks with some chimney cans.

The interior was not seen in 2000 but features timber-panelled shutters.
