Description
Mugdrum House is a building that dates from the early 18th century, possibly incorporating older elements, and underwent significant reconstruction later in the 18th century, with further alterations around 1840. The east wing, which is a single-storey structure, features five windows and was added in 1926. The main body of the house is two-storey, harled with margins, and whitewashed with a slated roof. The south elevation has eight windows arranged in a pattern of five, one, and two. The north front is approximately symmetrical, with a three-window centre that includes a pedimental chimney gable situated between two advanced gabled wings. The east wing contains a blocked archway from the mid-18th century, which has an early 19th-century window inserted. The building features straight skews, convex skewputts, and a piended southwest angle, all with a very simple design. The glazing is original and dates from around 1720 to 1840.
