Description
The Grove is a house built around 1730, with a west wing added around 1840. The building is constructed of brick and has slate roofs. The west wing features a two-storey facade with three bays, a central panelled door with an over-light, and horned sashes with glazing bars set beneath gauged skewback arches. The roof is hipped, and there are stacks on the lateral roof slopes.
The east front has only two bays due to the presence of the earlier wing, but it retains a similar door and sash windows. The 18th-century wing extends to the east and is two storeys high. The original three-bay elevation is still visible from blocked windows. There is one mid-19th-century tripartite sash window on the ground floor under a segmental arch, along with one 20th-century window to the left. A platband runs along the first floor, featuring two sashes with glazing bars. The roof is hipped.
At the rear (north) of the 18th-century wing, there is an early 19th-century outshut that is two storeys under a roof of black glazed pantiles. The ground floor has mixed fenestration, while the first floor contains three early 19th-century casement windows.
