Description
Old Hall Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse that was altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building has two storeys and features four bays. A panelled door is located to the right of the centre, set within panelled reveals and a fluted Doric pilaster doorcase, topped with a flat hood that has guttae. The sash windows include glazing bars and are adorned with gauged skewback arches. A timber modillion eaves cornice runs below the gabled roof. The southern internal gable stack has been rebuilt, while there is a partly external square northern gable stack. The gable heads exhibit tumbling. There is a 20th-century lean-to single-storey outshut to the south-west. The rear of the farmhouse was altered in the early 19th century with the addition of a two-storey outshut that has a catslide roof and a saw-toothed eaves cornice. A hipped stair turret rises through the outshut roof, with the stairs illuminated by a large first-floor sash window that features glazing bars and a segmental arch. The turret attic includes a circular 20th-century window. The remaining windows at the rear are either of 20th-century design or have been renewed.
