Description

The Gables Farm is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and has a thatched roof. The south front is two storeys high, with a central 20th-century glazed door within a timber frame, topped by a flat hood supported on scrolled acanthus consoles. To either side of the door are casement windows, and above them are three sash windows and a further casement window. The roof is gabled, with internal gable end stacks. The west gable head has been rebuilt. An earlier one-storey and dormer attic thatched cross wing extends up Back Lane, featuring a mixture of 19th and 20th-century casement windows. A north gable end stack has been partially rebuilt.
