Description

The Lindens, located on Duchess Road in Stanley, is a building dating from around 1840 to 1850. It is a two-storey structure with a three-window gabled design. The front features good coursed stonework with droved dressings that are two courses deep. The ground floor openings are framed with architraves that include a frieze and cornice, while the doorpiece is highlighted by a blocking course and plain architraves. The first-floor windows are set within gables made of rubble and include bargeboards. The end stacks are treated monumentally, with deep plinths. The roof is slated, and the windows are divided into three panes.
