Description

Anderton House is a two-storey building dated 1797, located on Chapel Street in New Mills. It is constructed of coursed stone and has been reroofed, featuring stacks at the gable ends. The front facade includes three windows with stone lintels that have slight arches and keystones, although the glazing is modern. A wooden cornice runs along the eaves. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and retains its original knocker, set within a stone doorway that has impost blocks and a lintel with a keystone, situated below the datestone. At the rear, there are mullion windows with three lights.
