Description
This small barn, located to the south and southeast of Long Lee, dates from 1679. It is constructed from coursed gritstone rubble and features massive quoins, with gritstone dressings and a stone slate roof. The gables are adorned with moulded stone copings and kneelers, and there is a moulded stringcourse between the floors.
On the east gable wall, above the stringcourse, there is a doorcase with a massive chamfered, quoined surround, and the lintel is inscribed with "IHMH 1679". The south wall has two four-light chamfered mullion windows, situated above two three-light chamfered mullion windows. The north wall features a central circular opening above the stringcourse, flanked by pierced openings on either side. Inside, the barn has ovolo moulded beams that support the floor.
