Description

30-32 Kenmore Street in Aberfeldy is a pair of traditional houses built in the mid-19th century, featuring two storeys and six bays, with an adjoining two-storey, four-bay house at the rear. The buildings are constructed from chlorite-slate rubble, with dry-dash on the rear. They have large quoins, projecting cills, and slab lintels, with some areas having heavy harl-pointing that is lined.

The south elevation is symmetrical, with modern doors in the central bays on the right, flanked by windows, and regular fenestration on the first floor. The left side mirrors this but features a panelled timber door. The east elevation is blank and gabled, while the west elevation is similar to the east but has No 36 adjoining on the outer left. The north elevation at the rear shows a variety of elements, including a modern door for No 30 on the outer left.

No 36 has a west elevation with a small window at ground level in the left bay, and each of the flanking bays has windows on both the ground and first floors, the latter featuring gabled dormerheads. There is a boarded timber door with a slated timber canopy in the outer right bay. The north elevation is gabled, with a single window at ground level and a bipartite window above.

The windows for Nos 30 and 32 have two-pane upper sashes over plate glass, while No 34 has plate glass glazing, all in timber sash and case windows. No 36 features modern glazing. The roofs are covered with graded grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with some cans. The eaves overhang with plain bargeboarding.

Inside No 34, there is a fireplace with a massive lintel.
