Description
Glendevon Castle is a much altered Z-plan tower house, likely dating from the early 17th century, although it probably contains earlier fabric. The southwest jamb with a circular turret is the only part that survives to full height, but it features a modern porch in the re-entrant angle and the apex stack has been removed. The remaining two ranges have been lowered, possibly in 1766, and now have monopitch roofs with dummy crenellations. The building is white-harled with some exposed margins, and the roofs are slated without screws or crow-steps. A low lean-to on the eastern side was reconstructed in 1966.
