Description

The war memorial on Kirkmichael Road, dating from around 1920, features a Celtic Cross made of granite. It has a battered base that displays the names of the fallen along with the inscription:

FROM THIS DISTRICT, WHO GAVE THEIR

LIVES FOR THEIR KING AND COUNTRY

IN THE GREAT WAR.

1914 - 1918

"THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE."

"CHA TILL IAD TUILLEADH."

The shaft of the memorial is also battered and culminates in a Celtic cross with a central boss.
