School House, Straloch Primary School, Straloch

Straloch Primary School, built in 1849 and around 1875, is a single-storey, 5-bay gabled school that features a 2-storey, 2-bay schoolhouse. Both structures have bracketed eaves and are constructed from roughly squared rubble with stugged quoins.

On the south elevation, the original school has two windows in the low central bays, with two additional windows in the broad gable to the left. A wall-mounted post box is situated between these windows, and there is a timber door under a low roof to the outer left. The taller schoolhouse has an M-gable to the outer right, with a small timber porch projecting immediately to the right of the centre, flanked by windows in the outer bays and two gablehead windows above.

The west elevation features a low catslide roof that projects to the outer right, with a part-blocked window to the left in a recessed face.

The north (entrance) elevation displays a variety of elements in an asymmetrical arrangement, including a large piended timber porch at the centre and gabled outer bays.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are coped squared rubble stacks with cans. The eaves are deeply overhanging.
