Description

Late 1860s. Single storey and attic, 3-bay cottage to SW of steading. Rubble with squared granite margins and quoins.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Rustic timber gabled and finialled porch with panelled timber door, windows in flanking bays, finialled dormerheaded windows breaking eaves to outer bays and flanking 3-part cast-iron rooflight.

W ELEVATION: gabled elevation with window to right.

E ELEVATION: blank gabled elevation.

N ELEVATION: variety of openings to full-width low lean-to offices, bay to right piended, later tall brick stack to outer right.

4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Coped squared rubble stacks with cans. Deeply overhanging eaves with plain bargeboards.

ANCILLARY BUILDING: low rubble ancillary to N with door in N gable and corrugated-iron roof.
