Description

The building consists of a store and cottages located within the walled garden of the Hallyburton Estate, likely originating from the 18th century. The large rectangular-plan walled garden features chamfered angles at the south and includes a two-storey rectangular-plan store on the west side, along with a pair of single-storey, six-bay garden cottages with piend roofs.

The walled garden is enclosed by flat-coped walls made of snecked rubble, which are accented with squared long and short quoins and voussoirs. The northwest wall has a segmental-arched carriage entrance located to the right of the center and a pedestrian entrance to the left.

The store is a two-storey structure, which may have been raised from a single storey, and consists of a single bay shed with a cantilevered stone forestair. The ground floor is constructed of snecked rubble, while the first floor features large blocks of squared rubble in an Aberdeen bond pattern. The roof is slated with deeply overhanging eaves. The gabled elevation adjoins the west angle of the walled garden and includes a door on the right side at ground level, with a forestair on the left leading to an additional door above. The southwest elevation has a wide window, while the northeast elevation faces the garden.

The cottages have low rubble walls with squared long and short quoins, topped by a broad, steeply pitched piended roof that includes a central stack. There are four windows located centrally, with doors positioned at the outer bays.
