Description

Kirkside Manse, also known as Gavintown House, dates back to 1666, with a rebuild in 1736. It was designed and built by John Beveridge and was originally thatched. Further work was done in 1756, as noted in a minute from May 10th, 1763. Offices were added in 1808, and the building was remodeled in 1820 according to designs by John Cross, a wright from Coupar Angus. A wing was added between 1821 and 1822, funded and designed by Rev. James Wilson. The structure is two stories high and harled, featuring a projecting bow wing.
