Description

The Old Smithy in Abernyte is an 18th-century building originally designed as a single-storey house, which was later raised to two storeys. It features a two-window façade constructed from rubble and has a log column porch. The former smithy has now been converted into a shop. The building was re-categorised in 2006 from grade B to grade C(S) due to its group interest, and the listing applies to both the interior and exterior as relevant to its building type.
