134 Victoria Street, Stromness

134 Victoria Street in Stromness is an earlier 19th century house with later alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay symmetrical plain classical rectangular-plan building that shares a quay with No 132. The exterior is cement-rendered and lined.

On the north (principal) elevation, there is a deep-set timber panelled door at ground level in the central bay, with a blocked window above on the first floor. There are windows in each floor of the flanking bays.

The east (seaward) elevation features a two-bay gabled design. There is a window at ground level to the right and another window at the first floor to the left, with a gablehead stack above.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with modern asbestos tiles, has a stone ridge, concrete skews, and corniced gablehead stacks, with the west stack painted. The east stack has thackstanes, and there are uPVC rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1997. The yard around the house is paved with Caithness flagstones, and there is a rubble wall along the south border of the rectangular-plan rubble quay, which is now grassed and projects to the east.
