132 Victoria Street, Stromness

132 Victoria Street in Stromness is an earlier 19th century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay, symmetrical rectangular-plan building, connected on the west side to a two-storey rubble store, and shares a quay with number 134. The exterior is harled with concrete cills, and features timber mullions on the bipartite windows.

On the north (principal) elevation, there is a deep-set modern part-glazed door at ground level in the central bay, with a window above it on the first floor. The bay to the right has a bipartite window on each floor, while the bay to the left has a single window on each floor.

The east (seaward) elevation has a two-bay gablehead design. There is a bipartite window at ground level on the left, with a single window above it on the first floor. To the right, there is a single window on the first floor, and a gablehead stack above.

The house features modern four-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with a stone ridge, cement skews, a harled corniced stack on the east side, an extended rubble ridge stack on the west side, and uPVC rainwater goods.

Inside, the internal walls on the ground floor have been removed and the space has been re-fitted. The quay surrounding the house is paved with Caithness flagstones and is bordered by a low coped rubble wall to the east, with a rubble slipway to the north.
